| Mathematics
Department
The mathematics
program is designed to provide the prerequisites that our students
need to pursue training in the careers that are needed to function
in today's technological global society. We provide the necessary
opportunities for students to develop their analytical , problem-solving
and reasoning skills. Our program includes the study of algebra,
geometry, trigonometry and functions that prepare students for the
Advanced Placement Calculus and to take College Calculus while they
are still in high school.
Presently we offer electives such as elementary statistics and Advanced
Placement Statistics. We are continually increasing our electives
to expose our students to the fascinating world of mathematics.
Technology
Department
Our technology
department gives all students an opportunity to become computer
literate. The course of study begins in the sixth grade and culminates
in the twelvth grade. Students learn keyboarding, applications in
Microsoft Office, computer design, A+ Certification and basic programming
with C++ . Those students with aptitude in this field continue a
course of study that leads up to the Advanced Placement Computer
Science and gives them the opportunity to take regular undergraduate
computer science courses at Medgar Evers College. |
