Medgar Evers College Preparatory School’s mission is to provide our diverse student population with a superlative college preparatory education.

Students are immersed in academically challenging study with requirements that include four years each of English/language arts, mathematics, science, technology and three years of second language courses. Students must also complete at least one Advanced Placement course in each of the following disciplines: English/language arts, mathematics, science and the social sciences. Additionally, students are expected to sit for the College Board examinations related to each Advanced Placement course taken. Enrollment in credit bearing college courses and research internships at Medgar Evers College, City University of New York, begins in the 10th grade and students may earn up to 11 college credits each semester, beginning in the 11th grade. Student creativity, character development and social responsibility are cultivated through individualized guidance and college advisement, athletics, clubs, fine and performing arts events, community service and mentorships.

Dress Code Policy

All students are required to wear the school uniform Monday through Friday. The 6th to 9th graders must wear a burgundy polo shirt/yellow oxford shirt, khaki slacks/ girls may wear khaki skirts. The 10th to 12th graders must wear burgundy polo shirts/white oxford shirts, black or khaki slacks. Thank you for your cooperation.

Pursuant to Chancellor's Regulation, Cell Phones, Beepers and other electronic devices are not permitted in any public school, including Medgar Evers College Preparatory School. Students who fail to comply will face strict disciplinary action in accordance with the Chancellor's regulation.
